Carroll Bogert, Communications Director, Human Rights Watch
Carroll Bogert is the communications director at Human Rights Watch, in charge of media relations and the website at the largest U.S.-based human rights organization. This not-for-profit works in more than 70 countries around the world, including in Central Asia. She is a former foreign correspondent for Newsweek magazine, and was Moscow bureau chief in the early 1990's.

Jacki Lyden, Alternate Host, Senior Correspondent Weekend All Things Considered¨
Jacki Lyden is the alternate host and senior correspondent to NPR's Weekend All Things Considered¨. She has been the alternate host on Weekend All Things Considered¨ since 1995, and has been with NPR since 1981. She contributes regularly to NPR's award-winning news magazines, Morning Edition¨ and All Things Considered¨ from various points around the globe.

Laura Silber, Senior Policy Advisor, Office of the President, Open Society Institute
Ms. Silber plays a leading role in Open Society Institute's policy advocacy, part of which includes supervising efforts to promote OSI policies and issues internationally through the media. Prior to joining OSI, Ms. Silber was a contributing writer at Talk magazine and covered the United Nations for the Financial Times. From 1990 to 1997 she was the FT Balkans correspondent She is the co-author of Yugoslavia: Death of a Nation and was consultant to the the accompanying television documentary series, which won the DuPont Gold Baton and Peabody awards.
