GEORGIA - AUDIO REPORT

According to the United Nations High Commissior for Refugees, roughly 160,000 individuals have been displaced by the recent fighting between Georgia and Russia. More than 25 percent of displaced persons lived in the city of Gori before the outbreak of hostilities. In this photo slideshow, photographer Temo Bardzimashvili looks at how Georgian IDPs are coping with the trauma inflicted by Russia’s incursion.

Georgia: Russian Invasion Strengthens Support for Saakashvili

Despite Russia’s continuing troop presence and the destruction of key economic and military installations in Georgia, domestic support for Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili remains strong. A significant number of Georgians continue to believe Russia is pushing for regime change in Tbilisi, but Saakashvili does not appear to be going anywhere.
