TURKMENISTAN: AFGHAN AND TURKMEN OFFICIALS DISCUSS ELECTRICITY DEAL

Afghanistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources is heading a delegation on a visit to Turkmenistan. The two sides are expected to discuss a deal under which Ashgabat would supply electricity to western portions of Afghanistan.

The Afghan energy minister, Ismail Khan, is a former governor of Herat Province which borders Turkmenistan. Khan was expected to hold talks with Turkmenistan Minister of Energy Yazmukhammet Orazgulyev, official Turkmen state media reported.
