Yerevan, 4th June: A Snark news agency correspondent learned
from sources close to the Armenian Central Electoral Commission
[CEC] that the results of the 30th May parliamentary elections
[under the first-past-the-post system] will be annulled in two
constituencies [precincts], No 15 and No 53.According to preliminary data, Samvel Avetisyan, an
independent candidate and chairman of the Rafael cooperative
society, was elected in constituency No 15. The results are
expected to be declared invalid owing to the numerous
complaints made by candidates standing for deputy.
According to preliminary official data, Vram Gyulzadyan,
an independent candidate and elder of Vardablur village, was
elected in constituency No 53. The reason [for declaring the
election results invalid] is the same.
Moreover, CEC circles are saying that the results of the
elections may be declared invalid in electoral precincts Nos
11, 20, 22, 23 and 24. [passage omitted on whether CEC will
