Yerevan, 21st June: Following discussion of the complaints
submitted by former candidates at the 30th May parliamentary
elections who disputed the decision of the regional electoral
commission, the Armenian Constitutional Court today annulled
the result of the election in Constituency No 63 (Shirak Region
[northern Armenia]).

Shirak Regional Electoral Commission had declared
Marzpetuni Markaryan, Republican Party [part of governing Unity
bloc] candidate and director of Gyumri Locomotive Depot, to be
the winner in this constituency.

As for Constituency No 15 (Yerevan), where the outcome
were annulled by the regional electoral commission on 5th June,
the Constitutional Court has decided to postpone discussion
until 28th June because legal proceedings have been instituted
at the Armenian Prosecutor-General's Office over violations in
this constituency.
