AZERBAIJAN ELECTION WATCH 

Azeri president decrees parliamentary by-elections to be held on 4th January

Text of report by Azerbaijani newspaper 'Khalg Gazeti' entitled "Decree of the president of the Azerbaijani Republic on holding by-elections in certain precincts"

In accordance with Point 1 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Azerbaijani Republic, I resolve:

to hold parliamentary by-elections on 4th January 2001 in precinct No 7 in Yasamal district, precinct No 9 in Khatai district, precinct No 38 in Sumgait, precinct No 51 in Agsu-Kurdamir, precinct No 53 in Astara District, precinct No 56 in Barda District, precinct No 65 in Kusary District, precinct No 68 in Imishli District, precinct No 94 in Hajigabul-Salyany, precinct 99 in Shamkir District.
