Members of Azeri opposition parties to be discharged from electoral commissions

September entitled "PFAP and PNIA members will be co-opted out
of the electoral commissions"

[Subhead] This was ordered by Nazim Babayev, an employee of the
department for working with precinct government bodies of the
Presidential Executive Staff

On 27th September Nazim Babayev, the employee of the
department for working with precinct government bodies of the
Presidential Executive Staff, and supervisor for Salyan
District [southeastern Azerbaijan], Nazim Babayev, came to this
district and met with the local government and the heads of
law-enforcement agencies. Babayev instructed the district's
government to discharge 50 per cent of the PFAP [People's Front
of Azerbaijan Party] and 25 per cent of the PNIA [the Party for
National Independence of Azerbaijan] members from the precinct
electoral commissions for the municipal elections. This was
reported by the press service of the PFAP.
