Text of report by Azerbaijani TV station ANS on 13th December

[Presenter in studio] The first municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan
yesterday. About 35,600 candidates are contesting seats in the
municipalities. Over 52.6 per cent of voters included on the electoral list
participated in the elections. An ANS TV correspondent went to the Central
Electoral Commission [CEC] for information but was told that the CEC
chairman and members were meeting Council of Europe representatives to
discuss the results of the elections and there was still no information.
Media representatives will be briefed at a press conference.
