Azeri opposition party appeals to electoral commission boss over infringements

Alimammad Nuriyev, chairman of the campaign headquarters of the
People's Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP) and member of the
party's supreme council, has appealed to Jafar Valiyev,
chairman of the Central Electoral Commission [CEC], over
violations that appeared in preparations for the municipal
elections.

The PFAP press service told our Bilik Dunyasi
correspondent that the appeal spoke about myriad infringements
in the process of forming territorial electoral commissions.

In conclusion, the PFAP member requests that the CEC
chairman take account of negative incidents in the process of
forming lots-casting and territorial electoral commissions in
the [1998] presidential elections and take relevant measures.
