Text of report by Azerbaijani news agency Bilik Dunyasi on 28th July

Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev issued a decree on 27th
July on the procedure for holding municipal elections in
Azerbaijan. The municipal elections have been set for 12th
December. In connection with the fact that the law "On holding
municipal elections" has taken effect, the Central Electoral
Commission, Milli Majlis [parliament], Cabinet of Ministers,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as local executive
authority bodies have been charged with carrying out relevant
work to implement the decree.
