Almaty, 24th August:

On Tuesday [24th August], the Republican
People's Party of Kazakhstan (RPPK) officially presented to the
Central Electoral Commission for registration data on RPPK
candidates for the forthcoming parliamentary elections
according to party list. The leader of the party, Akezhan
Kazhegeldin [former prime minister], is on top of the list.
The leadership of RPPK told the Interfax-Kazakhstan agency
that a decision of the Central Electoral Commission on the
possibility of Kazhegeldin running in the forthcoming election
campain as a candidate for a seat in parliament is expected
next Friday [27 August].
