[newspaper headline] There are 10 deputies in the new parliament by now
Six deputies have been elected to the Assembly of People's Representatives
[non-standing chamber of the parliament] by now. The following nominees
have given up the runoff elections: the director of the Bereke-Holding
Co.Ltd., T.Mamytov, the director of the Osh branch International
University, Dzh.Omukeyev, and the vice president of the Kyrgyztelecom
[telecommunications], B.Dzhumabayev. The district electoral commission of
Kara-Kuldzha electoral district no 33 has cancelled the resolution to
register the director of a market in Kara Su District [in Osh Region],
Dzh.Osmonov, a candidate for a parliamentary seat, for an attempt to bribe
voters.
So, the following nominees have become deputies of the Assembly of People's
Representatives before the end of the elections: Altay Borubayev, rector of
the Kyrgyz State National University, Mamat Alykulov, the director of the
Osh Electric Networks Enterprise, Sooronbay Dzheenbekov and Askerbek
Ermatov, both are the former members of the Assembly of People's
Representatives and Muhamadzhan Mamasaidov, rector of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek
University, the former member of the same chamber of the parliament. The
managing director of the Chon-Kemin Natural Park, the former deputy of the
Assembly of People's Representatives, Asankul Akayev, [Kyrgyz President
Askar Akayev's brother] was elected a deputy of the same chamber, who stood
unopposed in Kemin electoral district no.36 [in central Chuy Region].
The number of members of the Legislative Assembly [standing chamber] of the
parliament has increased by another four candidates. So, the deputy
director of the State Agency for Migration, Zafar Hakimov, has given up the
runoff elections. As a result, well-known [former deputy of this chamber]
Adaham Madumarov, who stood in the parliamentary elections in Uzgen
electoral district no 32 [in Osh Region], has won the seat in this
chamber. A solicitor, A. Shevelev, refused to run in the further contest in
Shopokov electoral district no 40 [in Bishkek], and as a result, the
managing director of he Toton financial and industrial firm, T.Sariyev, has
won the cherished seat in this chamber. Turdakun Usubaliyev [former Kyrgyz
Soviet Communists' leader] and A.Shadiyev, the vice-president of the Datka
corporation, have been elected deputies of the Legislative Assembly, who
ran in the elections unopposed in Son-Kul electoral district no 22 [in
northeast Naryn Region] and in Lyaylyak electoral district no 23 [in Osh
Region] respectively. page 3
