Text of report by Tajik radio on 4th January

The extraordinary sixth congress of the Democratic Party of Tajikistan was
held in Dushanbe today. According to a Khovar news agency correspondent,
during the congress the DPT discussed the list of candidates to the posts
of deputies to the Assembly of Representatives. The congress nominated 22
candidates to the legislative body of the country. Members of the Central
Electoral and Referendum Commission of the republic were present at the
congress.

The extraordinary congress of the Socialist Party of Tajikistan was held in
Dushanbe today. A Khovar news agency correspondent reported that during the
congress the Socialist Party of Tajikistan discussed the nomination of
candidates to the posts of deputies to the Assembly of Representatives in a
single nationwide electoral district. The congress of the Socialist Party
of Tajikistan nominated 22 candidates to the Assembly of Representatives.
Members of the Central Electoral and Referendum Commission of the republic
were present at the congress.
