Text of report by the Tajik news agency Asia-Plus on 22nd February

Yesterday, 21st February, six days before the elections to the lower chamber
of the parliament - the Assembly of Representatives - the Central Electoral
and Referendum Commission of Tajikistan annulled the decisions by district
electoral commissions on the registration of three nominees.

The Asia-Plus news agency learned from the Central Electoral Commission's
chairman, Mirzoali Boltuyev, the same day that Badriddin Qosimov was
withdrawn from running in electoral district No 9 (Lenin District, south of
Dushanbe, central Tajikistan), Quvvatali Saydaliyev - in electoral district
No 36 (Danghara District, southern Khatlon Region) and Jon Muminov - in
electoral district No 39 (Vose District, Khatlon Region).

According to Mirzoali Boltuyev, these people were withdrawn from the race
for violating campaign rules and, consequently, the Tajik constitution.
