Text of report by the Tajik news agency Asia-Plus on 6th March
A week has passed since the parliamentary elections in Tajikistan, but as
before some political forces of the country claim that violations allegedly
took place during the polls.
The chairman of the Communist Party's Monitoring and Auditing Commission,
Abduali Abdulloyev, told Asia-Plus on 6th March that the Central Committee
of the Communist Party of Tajikistan was still receiving complaints from
regions over the activity of electoral commissions. According to
Abdulloyev, on Friday 3rd March, the party appealed to the Central
Electoral Commission (CEC) against the violation of the law on elections in
the republic's 16 districts. The CEC has not answered any of these
complaints yet.
We recall that in line with the Tajik law on elections, the election results
may be protested within ten days after the elections.
