Text of report by the Tajik news agency Asia-Plus on 13th March

The runoff elections were held in some regions of Tajikistan on 13th March.
Asia-Plus news agency was told by the press secretary of the Central
Election and Referendum Commission of Tajikistan, Abdurahmon Abdumannonov,
that the results of the 12th March runoff elections to the Supreme Assembly
had been announced in eight electoral districts [out of 12]. He said that
Mahmadali Rahimov won in Lenin electoral district [central Tajikistan],
[the head of a parliamentary committee and a member of the People's
Democratic Party of Tajikistan], Ibrohim Usmonov in Asht, Jumaboy Sanginov
in Mastchoh, Yusuf Akhmedov in Konibodom, Ahror Umarov in Uroteppa [all
electoral districts in northern Tajikistan], Isomiddin Saidov in Vakhsh,
[the chairman of the agriculture committee of the parliament and a member
of the Communist Party of Tajikistan] Karimjon Faqirov in Vose and Tojiniso
Mahmadova in Yovon [all electoral districts are in southern Tajikistan].
The results of the elections in Fayzobod [central Tajikistan] and Muminobod
[southern Tajikistan] electoral districts as well as in two electoral
districts of Mountainous Badakhshon Autonomous Region [eastern Tajikistan]
have not yet been announced for technical reasons.
It should be noted that runoff elections will also be held in two more
electoral districts: in Khoja Maston and Kofarnihon electoral districts
[later].
