Tajik electoral commision says all complaints dealt with

The Tajik Central Electoral and Referendum Commission held a
working meeting today, 3rd November. It discussed a number of
specific issues concerning the preparation for the presidential
elections scheduled for 6th November.

A Khovar news agency correspondent learnt that the meeting
heard a report by the commission's working group on its
handling of complaints and applications being received in the
runup to the presidential elections. The electoral commission's
deputy chairman, Mizrob Kabirov, said that they received over
60 complaints and applications by today. The working group
thoroughly considered all the papers and gave authoritative
replies to them. Mizrob Kabirov also noted that the electoral
commisison was receiving numerous letters from ordinary people
in support of the candidacy of [the incumbent president]
Emomali Rahmonov.

The meeting decided that the working group's members will
on 4th November set off to regional centres, towns and
Districts of the country to see what the people there have to
say or complain about the forthcoming elections. The polling
stations will be open on 6th November from 0600 [0100 gmt] till
2000 [1500 gmt].

The meeting also stressed that in case some people do not
receive a notification on the election they could still vote at
their local polling station after proving their identity.
The electoral commision's chairman, Mirzoali Boltuyev,
summed up the meeting.
