Excerpts from report by Tajik radio on 25th September

The 11th session of the people's deputies of [northern]
Leninobod Region's assembly of the first convocation was held
in Khujand today [25th September]. Out of 70 people's deputies
61 deputies attended the work of the session. Chairmen of town
and District administrations of the Region and other officials
were also present at the session. The chairman of [Leninobod]
Region, Qosimjon Qosimov, opened the session. He said the main
aim of today's session was the nomination of a candidate for
the post of president of the republic [of Tajikistan].

Thus, with its resolution, the 11th session of the
people's deputies of Leninobod Region's assembly of the first
convocation nominated the head of state, Emomali Rahmonov, for
the post of president of the republic.
