Politologist forecast for outcome of elections
Newspaper Biznes i Politika published the article of politologist Suhrob Sharipov, in which the author tried to make a forecast on chances of the parties at the forthcoming elections. By his opinion, the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan is the strongest in all regions of Tajikistan, and would win the elections. The second position should be taken by Communists, and the third – by Islamic Revival Party. The Democratic Party, Socialist party and Adolatkhoh would not gather even five percent and would not be represented at parliament as fractions.
UN experts will monitor parliamentary elections in RT
Information agency Asia-Plus informed that UN is stationing groups of experts to monitor the forthcoming parliamentary elections on February 27. The UN Mission of Observers in Tajikistan informed that a group of international experts of UN would monitor the elections, together with the OSCE mission for monitoring the elections, which already had arrived in Tajikistan. The UNMOT would provide organizational support to the two groups. The activity of UN group of experts is funded by governments of Switzerland, Germany and Japan.
The first issue of newspaper of Communists published
Information agency Asia-Plus informed that after two-year interruption the first joint issue of newspapers Nidoi Ranjbar and Golos Tajikistana was published. The newspapers are the printed editions of the Communist Party of Tajikistan. The edition published the interview of chairman of the party Shodi Shabdolov, election program of CPT and the party list for the elections. Chairman of the control-revision commission of CPT Abduali Abdulloyev said that the issuing the newspaper by CPT became possible with the decree of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendum. The agency reminds that the decree allowed the political parties spend up to TR4 million on election campaign. The CPT is planning to issue several more editions of the newspaper. A.Abdulloyev also said that the election campaign tour of Shodi Shabdolov to districts and cities of Khatlon region started on February 14.
CPT – for joining the union of Russia and Belorussia
The first issue of Nidoi Ranjbar – newspaper of Communist party – published the interview of chairman of CPT Shodi Shabdolov. Shodi Shabdolov said that CPT is not the party of pensioners as some mass media try to represent it. He asserts that more youth have been joining the party lately. The election program of CPT differs from programs of the other five parties – the CPT resolutely stands for prevalence of state and collective ownership over private ownership. Nevertheless, Shodi Shabdolov does not deny the necessity of preserving private ownership. He says that the economy and the social sphere of the country are in deep crisis. The tendency to deterioration would continue unless the links of Tajikistan with other republics of CIS are restored. Leader of Communists of RT again stressed the necessity of joining by RT the union of Russia and Belorussia.
Election campaign tour of S.A.Nuri
Information agency Asia-Plus reported that the election campaign tour of chairman of Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan Sayeed Abdullo Nuri continues in regions of Khatlon region. Head of press service of United Tajik Opposition Hikmatullo Saifullozoda informed on February 15 that on February 14 S.A.Nuri met with population of Bokhtar district and the city of Kurgon-Teppa. The tour of leader of UTO to Khatlon would last until February 17.
