Information agency Asia-Plus (A-P Blitz No.360) informed that leadership of United Tajik Opposition made a statement on October 15, in which put forth a number of demands, in particular to convene an extraordinary session of Majlisi Oli to transfer the date of election of president of the country, re-elect the Central Election Commission, ensure representation of parties which nominated pretenders at CEC and at district election commissions. Other demands of the opposition are that local executive authorities stop interfering in election campaign, that all pretenders are given equal rights for use of mass media, in particular TV and radio, that elections be conducted under direct supervision by UN, OSCE and other international organizations. Would the demands be not satisfied, UTO would stop its activity at Commission for National Reconciliation.
Ubaidullo Davlatov: Nobody has a right to change the date of elections of president of the country
Information agency Asia-Plus (A-P Blitz No.360) informed of a statement made by chairman of Supreme Court of RT Ubaidullo Davlatov. U.Davlatov said that elections of president of RT must be held on November 6 and nobody – neither president nor the parliament has a right to change the date which was set by the Constitutional Law on Elections and by Constitution of RT. On November 6 the five-year term of authority of the president ends, as determined by the Constitution. Commenting on statements of the three pretenders to the post of president and leader of UTO Sayeed Abdullo Nuri, who demanded that an extraordinary session of Majlisi Oli be gathered, U.Davlatov said that would the pretenders apply to Supreme Court in regard of violations committed by local executives the Court would consider the applications and provide the legal assessment in shortest terms.

Information agency Asia-Plus (A-P Blitz No.361) informed that first deputy to chairman of UTO, first Vice-Premier of government of RT Khoji Akbar Turajonzoda had expressed on October 16 his disagreement with the position of chairman of CNR Sayeed Abdullo Nuri. One day before, S.A.Nuri demanded that an extraordinary session of Majlisi Oli be gathered to postpone elections of president. In case the demands are not satisfied before October 18 representatives of opposition would stop their work at CNR. Turajonzoda said that if the elections are not held on November 6, when the legitimate term of authority of president of RT expires the pillars of state power might get weak. He expressed confidence that Commission for National Reconciliation continues functioning and most important what it has to do is to prepare the draft of the law on elections of parliament. He underlined that political forces of Tajikistan will be able to take part in the future elections to parliament only if they avoid any actions that might lead to confrontation, and then the elections would be really democratic. Khoji Akbar Turajonzoda urged his supporters, first of all members of IRP, not to endanger the most important accomplishment – amendments in Constitution of RT on legalizing religious political organizations, and not to allow another round of tension in the society. The day before, disagreement with position of chairman of leader of IRP was expressed by other members of presidium of UTO – chairman of Democratic Party (Almaty fraction) chairman of state concern Tajikcommunservice Mahmadruzi Iskandarov and chairman of CNR sub-commission on military issues deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Habib Sanginov.
