Uzbek election press centre open all day 9 Jan

[Newspaper headline] For the attention of journalists!

[Subheading] All people of our independent country, as well as the world
community, are showing a great interest in the elections of the president
of the Republic of Uzbekistan which will be held on 9th January

With the aim of giving broad and open information about the presidential
elections, that day the Press Centre of the Central Electoral Commission
will work continuously from 0600 to midnight local time [from 0100 to 1900
gmt]. Direct communications between the electoral districts for holding the
presidential elections have been installed. Exact information about the
course of the elections throughout the country will be received every two
hours by an automated computer system called Saylov [Elections]. Throughout
the day journalists will get the information from the electoral districts
at news conferences presided over by Chairman of the Central Electoral
Commission Najmiddin Komilov which will be held at 1200, 1600 and 2100
local time [0700, 1100 and 1600 gmt].

The Press Centre of the Central Electoral Commission is equipped with
international fax telephones and the Internet. A press bar will work
throughout the day for journalists.

We invite all local and foreign journalists who are accredited to cover the
elections to the Press Centre (located at 16 Navoi Street) on 9th January.
