Eurasia Insight: President Imomali Rahmon's administration in Tajikistan is shaking up the country's diplomatic corps. The latest move came on November 18 with the announcement that Zubaydullo Zubaydov, formerly a counselor at the Tajik embassy in Moscow, would become ambassador to Pakistan. According to a report distributed by the Asia-Plus news agency, Zubaydov is replacing Saidbeg Saidov, who on September 13 became the ambassador to India, in turn replacing Salohiddin Nasriddinov, who was appointed Tajikistan's ambassador to Saudi Arabia. On October 13, Sharofiddin Imomov, formerly a director at the Institute of Oriental Studies and Written Heritage at the Academy of Sciences, was appointed Tajikistan's ambassador to Afghanistan. He replaced Farhod Mahkamov. In August, Bahrom Kholnazarov, the head of the Foreign Ministry's Consular Department, was appointed ambassador to Kazakhstan. He replaced Akbarsho Iskandarov, who had held the position for five years. On September 4, the president's daughter, Ozoda Emomaliyevna Rahmonova, was appointed to fill Kholnazarov's vacancy at the Foreign Ministry.
