Georgia: Tbilisi and Washington to Discuss Afghanistan Arms Supply
Washington's point man for Afghanistan will be traveling to Georgia to discuss Tbilisi's offer to facilitate the supply of arms and supplies to North Atlantic Treaty Organization troops in Afghanistan.
US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke will arrive in Tbilisi "soon" to hold talks on Georgia's cooperation with NATO, US Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg told journalists in Tbilisi on February 5.
During a meeting with Steinberg, President Mikheil Saakashvili repeated an earlier offer to provide a corridor for US arms supply via Georgia, the US official said. Steinberg added that he redirected Saakashvili to the Pentagon to discuss the issue.
