A delegation of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) experts has arrived in Georgia for a three-day assessment of the Georgian military's training needs.
Deputy Defense Minister Giorgi Muchaidze told reporters on March 18 that the NATO experts are looking to come up with solutions to shortcomings in education and training that were exposed during the 2008 war with Russia. The NATO experts have already visited the National Academy of Defense and the Krtsanisi military training center, the Interpressnews agency reported.
An advisory assessment plan, to be followed by an "action plan" for changes, is expected in a few weeks, Muchaidze said.
