Armenia will request that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), a US-government-funded development program, provide $1.6 million to rehabilitate rural road infrastructure, the PanArmenian news service reported on May 12.
The request awaits approval from the Millennium Challenge Fund, which facilitates dealings between the MCC and the Armenian government, before it is forwarded on to the MCC. The MCC already has in place a $67.1 million road rehabilitation project for Armenia that includes connecting rural communities to administrative and economic hubs.
