HIGHLIGHTS OF RECENT TRADE AGREEMENTS

Bilateral agreements between Iran and Afghanistan:
Transit
  •Afghanistan is to receive the right to use port of Chabahar with 90 percent discount on post fees (except for oil tankers)
  •Afghanistan is to receive 50 percent discount on warehousing and other charges (except for oil tankers)
  •Afghanistan is to receive the right to use all Iranian ports and roads for transit purposes
  •Afghan vehicles and vessels operators to receive road passes and the right to deliver via Iran
  •Afghan vehicles and vessels to pay equivalent fuel rate as Iranian vehicles and vessels
Commerce
  •In case of dispute, Iran and Afghanistan can submit to international arbitration
  •Reciprocal visa agreement
  •Iran to offer Afghan-made products to its available markets
  •Mutual bond to provide certificate of origin on all products

Trilateral agreements between Iran, India and Afghanistan:
Transit
  •India to be allowed to transit without reservation via Iran and Afghanistan
  •Afghanistan to utilize all available avenues to transit its products through Iran
  •All discounts to Afghanistan in respect to Chabahar apply to India as well
Transport
  •Islamic Republic of Iran to build the Milak bridge over Helmand river
  •Iran to upgrade Chabahar-Milak road to international standards
  •Indian to build Zaranj-Delaram road (215 KM)
  •India and Iran have signed an MoU to build railroad from Chabahar to Iranian Central railway station
  •Iran to extend its railway to port of Islam Qaleh
