Turkish courts and regulators have already famously blocked access in the country to YouTube and a host of other major websites. Is Facebook next? It appears that there are several cases pending against the social networking site that could lead to its closure -- Turkish law allows for individuals to petition a court to have a site closed down -- one of them filed by the head of Turkey's main opposition party.
Meanwhile, Turkey's Minister of Transportation, whose portfolio includes regulating online traffic, has made some vaguely threatening remarks against Facebook. Turkey, it should be noted, reportedly has the fourth-most Facebook users in the world. More details here.
