Nana Asnidze, 28, conducts Georgian language class in a middle school in the village of Ieli on Jan. 24, the first day of spring semester. During the past 20 years, residents have been gradually deserting Ieli, a distant mountain village in the Georgian region of Svaneti. However the recent promotion of tourism and promise of employment in Svaneti has slowed the trickle of migration form the region.
