Chairman of State Migration Service of Turkmenistan Receives Severe Reprimand
The Chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan, Dovrangeldi Bayramov, received a severe reprimand for “poor performance of official duties” and “shortcomings in work.” “Dovrangeldi Bayramov has been warned that he will be relieved of his duties if he fails to correct the shortcomings in the shortest period,” said the press service of the head of state.

Turkmenistan Approves Migration Service Guidelines
At a meeting of Turkmenistan’s State Security Council, President Berdymukhamedov approved a draft resolution 'On improvement of State Migration Service's Activity.’ The meeting also focused on the performance of military and law enforcement bodies.
The law 'On Migration' establishing the procedure for entering, remaining in, and leaving Turkmenistan came into force in April 2012. A number of articles of this law violate the right to freedom of movement and allow Turkmen authorities to reject requests to enter or leave the country.

Ertir.com (Ertir means tomorrow in Turkmen) opened in May of 2009 and has roughly 8000 members, primarily youth and intelligentsia, who post regularly. The most popular topics on this site are sports, movies, love, and political discussions. The administration of Ertir.com has not made any comments about the situation yet.

Turkmen People Watch World Cup Life First Time In 20 Years
For the first time in 20 years of Turkmenistan’s independence, the European World Cup is broadcast live in Turkmenistan. President Berdymukhamedov personally ordered live broadcasting of soccer matches on national television.

Turkmen Mass Media to Feature More Articles About Culture
On June 8, speaking at a cabinet meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov “emphasized the importance of interesting and expressive materials about the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people, as well as achievements in the field of national culture and art in the new historical epoch.” The President instructed Deputy Prime Minister Byagul Nurmyradova, who oversees the sphere of culture, to enhance work in this area.
