Turkmenistan’s Commodity Exchange Sells Goods Worth US $ 52 million
Last week, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan registered 33 transactions totaling 52 million USD. Businessmen from the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and the Channel Islands purchased products of the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. Entrepreneurs from Russia bought goods produced by the Turkmenkhimia complex (Turkmen chemistry). Businessmen from Russia, Great Britain, Singapore, Poland, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan purchased cotton and cotton products.

Nabucco Consortium Optimistic About Nabucco West
The consortium of the Nabucco gas pipeline project is confident of offering the most attractive option to transport Azerbaijani gas to European markets, Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH spokesman, Christian Dolezal, told trend.az. This week, the consortium of the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas field development selected Nabucco West as the single pipeline option for the potential export of Shah Deniz Stage 2 gas to Central Europe. Nabucco West is a short-cut version of the Nabucco project, envisaging construction of a pipeline from the Turkish-Bulgarian border to Austria. In the future Turkmenistan and Iran may also become suppliers for the Nabucco West pipeline.

Nabucco Expects Additional Gas Sources for the Project Nabucco West, which is one of the potential export routes for Azerbaijani gas to Europe, expects additional sources of gas for the project, Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH Managing Director Reinhard Mitschek said during a conference call on Friday.
"Sooner or later we may also see gas from Turkmenistan and Iraq. Nabucco West will be ready to take also this gas for European markets," Mitschek said. Mitschek noted that the minimum volumes that Nabucco West will transport amount to 10 billion cubic meters.
