Turkmenistan to Take Part in Non-Aligned Movement Tehran Summit
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov will travel to Tehran in late August to attend a summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, an official Turkmen source said. The Non-Aligned Movement, an international organization uniting 120 countries on the principles of non-participation in military blocs, was established in 1961. The next summit of the Non-Aligned Movement will be held in Tehran on August 26-31. During the summit Iran will assume the presidency of this organization.

Turkmen President to Visit Turkey in August
Turkish President Abdullah Gul, in a recent telephone conversation initiated by Ankara, invited Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov to visit Turkey in early August 2012, the Turkmen government reported on July 26. The invitation was accepted and the exact date of the visit will be coordinated through diplomatic channels.

United Nations Sends Sew Coordinator to Turkmenistan
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received the newly appointed coordinator of the UN, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Barrins Jacinto, the Turkmen government reported on July 25. The diplomat conveyed greetings and a letter from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, with best wishes to the Turkmen people. “Emphasizing the interest of the United Nations in the further development of a constructive dialogue with Turkmenistan, Barrins noted Turkmenistan's active role in matters of bilateral partnership that meets the objectives of the welfare and prosperity in the regional and global dimension,” the Turkmen government statement said.
