Turkmenistan’s GDP Grew by 11% This Year - President
During the period of January – July of 2012, Turkmenistan’s GDP grew by 11 percent, according to the Turkmen Government, citing a statement by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov at his Cabinet meeting. During the first seven months of this year the growth of oil and gas condensate production in the country amounted to 106,7 percent compared to 2011, and natural and associated gas amounted to 112,1 percent for the same period in 2011. Gas exports grew by 16,1 percent.

Turkmenistan Explores Options To Export Gas Through Azerbaijan
The State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan is studying the possibility of transporting liquefied gas in special containers to the Baku Port and from there to the ports of Batumi or Poti (Georgia, Black Sea Region) via railway. From the ports of Georgia, containers will then be delivered by ships to Romania or other Black Sea countries. The same route can be used for other Turkmen goods that can be transported in containers.

Turkmenistan to purchase 500 special freight cars
The Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan will sign a contract with the company “Stock Plaza LLP” (Great Britaihn) for the purchase of 300 special freight cars for transportation of cement and mineral fertilizers. Another contract will be signed with British company “Breyk Taim Club LLP” for the purchase of 200 special freight cars for transportation of petroleum products.
