Turkmenistan ups 2030 natural gas target
Turkmenistan, holder of the world's fourth-largest natural gas reserves, said on September 13 that it would increase annual output of the fuel to 250 billion cubic metres (bcm) by 2030, upping an earlier target of 230 bcm. Turkmenistan, where current potential annual gas output is estimated at just 75 bcm, is hoping to expand its industry massively by tapping unexplored fields and building two new U.S.-backed pipelines: Trans-Caspian and TAPI.

Turkmenistan Estimates its Hydrocarbon Reserves in 71.6 Billion of Oil Equivalent
Total hydrocarbon resources of Turkmenistan amounted to 71.6 billion of oil equivalent, including 20.8 billion tons of oil and 50.8 trillion cubic meters of gas, Minister of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan Kakageldy Abdullayev said at the conference Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat on Thursday. He noted that hundreds of prospective oil and gas structures revealed in Turkmenistan, about 160 deposits are already functioning and about 60 of them are being developed.

Turkmenistan Completed 140 Kilometers of East-West Pipeline
Construction of the East-West pipeline is picking up speed, reported the Turkmen Ministry of Oil and gas Industry and Mineral Resources on September 13. The construction of the section on the Western part of the country is to be completed by 2014. The East-West pipeline, with estimated length of 800 to 1000 kilometers will link all expert and internal pipelines in Turkmenistan in one ring. Estimated cost of the pipeline construction is more than 2 billion USD.

German firm to lead airports construction project in Turkmenistan
German Airport Consulting Partners subsidiary ILF Consulting Engineers won the international tender as a consulting company to control the construction of new international airports in Turkmenistan, an official Turkmen source said September 17.

In 2013 Turkmenistan will increase the supply of electricity to Afghanistan to 365 million kW / h. President Berdymukhamedov signed a decree in this regard, allowing Turkmenistan’s Energy Ministry to prepare relevant agreements to be signed with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Energy and Water Resources. The decree was published in Turkmenistan’s media on September 8.
