Head of State Service of Maritime and River Transport fired
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov fired the head of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan, Meylis Mutdikov for shortcomings in his work. The President appointed Rustam Kutlyev as acting head of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport.

Songs and Dances in Turkmenistan Dedicated to President
Turkmen media published the list of the winners of Turkmenistan’s contest among writers, artists, singers, and dancers. The prizes included gold chains and US dollars. The contest participants were to praise the Fatherland, and the winning songs were titled “Arkadag,” (Protector – as the President calls himself now) “Glory to Arkadag,” “Together with Arkadag,” “Glory to Arkadag,” “Dear Arkadag,” “Arkadag the Hero,” etc. This year the program also included dances dedicated to the President, and a number of female dancers received awards for “masterful performances” of dances titled “Arkadag is here, Arkadag,” “The White Road of Arkadag,” “Viva Turkmenistan, Viva Arkadag!” and “Dear Arkadag.”
