Turkmenistan and Latvia to Expand Energy and Industrial Cooperation
A delegation of Latvian industrialists led by the head of the Riga Shipyard of Latvia, the Director of Eiroholdings, Vasily Melniks, held talks at the Ministry of Oil and Gas and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan to discuss possibilities for increasing business partnership in the oil and gas industry and modernizing the infrastructure of the refining and petrochemical industries. The Latvian delegation also met with the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan and other agencies.

Turkey to Build Cotton Cleaning Enterprises in Turkmenistan
The State Concern Turkmenpagta (Turkmen Cotton) will sign a contract with the Turkish Engin Group to build two cotton cleaning enterprises, with an annual capacity of 40,000 tons each, in the Altyn Asyr district of the Akhal region and the Sakarchage district of Mary province.
Construction is slated to begin in April 2013 and to be completed by April 2015. The total area of each of the two enterprises will be 16 hectares. Each of the enterprises will have cotton receiving points that can absorb 10,000 tons of raw materials.
