GDP Measured at 9.4 Percent in Turkmenistan Since Early 2013
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was estimated at 9.42%in Turkmenistan for the first six months of 2013, local media reported on July 15, citing President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov during the Cabinet of Ministers' meeting. "Thanks to the country's well-conceived investment policy, the attraction of significant foreign investments to the country, and the coordinated work of all bodies, the real growth of the GDP volume hit 9%," the President said.

Turkmenistan Ranked 90th Among 190 Countries in World Bank's GDP Ranking
The World Bank published its annual GDP ranking evaluating the economies of 190 countries, with Turkmenistan occupying the 90th position and placed in the category of the countries with a medium level of GDP per capita, along with Kazakhstan (49th position) and Uzbekistan (74th position). According to the World Bank, Turkmenistan’s GDP amounted to $33,679 million, which amounts to $ 5,550 per capita.

Foreign Companies’ Construction Volume Hits $28 Billion in Turkmenistan
Foreign companies are constructing $28 billion worth of projects in Turkmenistan, the Turkmen government said on July 15. "Around 1,865 facilities are under construction now with investments exceeding $41 billion," the statement said. "Approximately $13 billion of the total investments volume are spent on construction projects implemented by local construction companies."

Turkish Çalik Enerji Sanayive Ticaret A.Ş. to Construct Two Gas Turbine Powerplants in Turkmenistan
Turkmenistan’s Turkmenenergo State energy corporation will sign a contract with Turkey’s Çalik Enerji Sanayive Ticaret A.Ş. to build two gas turbine power plants in Turkmenistan. According to the Presidential Decree, construction is to start in July of 2013 and is to be completed in December 2014 or December 2015.

Russian Vozrozhdeniye Company Built Highway in Ashgabat
A ceremony commissioning a new highway, a 4-km long 8-lane section of 10 yilAbadanchylyk Avenue (10 years of well-being) was held in Ashgabat. The total width of the roadway is 28 meters. The highway capacity is 3,000 vehicles per hour in one direction. JSC Production Association Vozrozhdeniye (Russia) built this new roadway.

Tatarstan Tatneft Expands Cooperation with Turkmenistan
Specialists from Tatarstan's Tatneft oil company continue to work on the contract with the Turkmenneft state concern to enhance oil recovery in the south-eastern sector N4 of the oil field of the Gas Management Goturdepeneft in Turkmenistan. In the first half of 2013, full repair was completed and five wells were put into operation; an additional 11,400 tons of oil were extracted, the press service of the Tatarstan's company said.
