Starting July 21 the Turkmen government is taking a 10-day holiday, in accordance with the decision of President Berdymukhamedov, who said the officials deserved a summer break, having demonstrated “good results of socio-economic development of the country over the past six months.” Berdymukhamedov said they can spend their holidays in Avaza, on the Caspian Sea, where he will be going as well. The tradition to send the government on a week or a 10-day long holiday dates back to the former President of Turkmenistan, SaparmuratNyazov, when governmental officials went to the Caspian together.
