Pakistan Refuses Talks Over Tapi With India
Talks on the crucial Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline have been put on hold after Pakistan refused to participate in a dialogue scheduled for August 22 in India following the increased escalation of violence between the two nations along Line of Control, reported Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune. A representative of the US State Department and Chevron officials were visiting India to discuss the pipeline and requested Pakistan to join them. However, Islamabad refused to participate in the talks amid boiling tensions with New Delhi over Line of Control (LoC) killings.

Turkmenistan to Build Caspian Energy Port
The opening ceremony of Turkmenistan’s largest port project, “Turkmenbashi International Ports,” was held August 15, with the participation of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, and ministers and MPs from the two countries. The Turkish construction company GAP, owned by the Çalık Group, will build a port in the city of Turkmenbashi on Turkmenistan’s Caspian Sea coast over four years. The planned port is expected to create 4,000 new jobs when completed. Turkmenistan launched the $2 billion project to boost exports of oil products, liquefied gas, and textiles.

Turkmenistan's Agricultural Producers Receive Case Tractors
More than two dozen brands of Puma-155 Case tractors have been delivered to private farmers and agricultural associations in Turkmenistan’s Lebap region. Another two dozen models of the Puma-155, Maxxum 125, and JX95 tractors will be delivered to the Dashoguz and Akhal regions in the near future. Case has delivered 40 units of equipment since the beginning of 2013. About three million units of American Case machinery have been supplied to Turkmenistan since 1993. The equipment was mainly delivered to the State Association Turkmenobahyzmat, the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan reported.

EBRD Supports Small and Medium Business in Turkmenistan
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development implements a program for financing small and medium business in Turkmenistan. The target groups of the EBRD program are small and medium enterprises, as well as individual entrepreneurs involved in trade, service, construction, and production.
Loans are issued to expand and modernize existing businesses and to implement new investment projects.

Ukraine and Turkmenistan expand military-technical cooperation
Ukraine plans to develop military-technical cooperation with Turkmenistan, Ukraine media outlets reported in reference to the statement of the State Concern Ukroboronprom.
Last week the Head of Ukroboronprom, Sergey Gromov, and Turkmen Minister of Defense Begench Gundogdiyev discussed current and future supply contracts between the Turkmen and Ukrainian military-industrial complex. Kiev made various proposals for expanding cooperation in the air defense, arms and aviation sectors.
