President Berdymukhamedov Held Number of Meetings to Discuss Cooperation with Japan
During his official meeting to Japan, President Berdymukhamedov met with the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy of Japan, Taro Aso, to discuss economic cooperation. Berdymukhamedov also met with the President of Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation, Ken Konayashi. The head of Gap Insaat, Akhmet Calik, also attended the meeting.
On the final day of his official visit to Japan, President Berdymukhamedov met with the Chairman of Japan Business Federation (Nippon Keidanren), Hiromasa Yonekura. Heads of major Japanese corporations such as ITOCHU, TOYO Engineering, Chiyoda, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi, Sumitomo, Marubeni, Toshiba, Komatsu, etc. also attended the meeting.

Tokyo Hosted Turkmen-Japanese Business Forum
While visiting Tokyo, Japan, President Berdymukhamedov took part in the Turkmen-Japanese business forum called “The bright future of reliable partnership,” which gathered more than 300 participants and guests, including representatives of such companies as
ITOCHU, MARUBENI, MITSUBISHI, SOJITZ, CHIYODA, JGC, Kawasaki Heavy Industries LTD, Komatsu, Mitsui&Co.Ltd, Sumitomo, Hitachi, Kaneko Sangyo Co.Ltd, Mitsubishi heavy industries Ltd, Mitsui engineering shipbuilding Co.Ltd, Mizuho bank Ltd, NEC, Nippon, Nippon Steal &Sumikin engineering Co.Ltd, Nissan, Nisso Boeki Co.Ltd, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Yokogawa Electric, Tsukushima Kikai Co. Ltd.
Berdymukhamedov spoke at the forum and gave some figures describing Japan’s involvement in investment projects in Turkmenistan. Thus, according to the Turkmen President, as of June 1, 2013, there were 25 projects in Turkmenistan with participation of Japanese companies for the total amount of about 800 million USD. At the end of the forum Turkmenistan signed a number of agreements with Japanese companies.

Turkmen President Met with Representatives of Japanese Financial Institutions
During his official visit to Japan, President Berdymukhamedov met with the heads of Japanese leading trading and financial institutions, including the President of the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation Hiroshi Okuda, President of Japanese export-credit agency (NEXI) Kazuhiko Bando, and President of Japanese Association for Trading with Russia and New Independent States (ROTOBO), senior executive adviser of Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Corporation Takashi Nashioka.

Russian company supplies pipes for Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline
Russian Izhora Pipe Plant Closed Joint-Stock Company, a producer of large-diameter pipes, completed the shipment for the Central Asia-China gas pipeline, the company said today. "The company supplied more than 50,000 tons of 1,219 mm pipes with internal and external anti-corrosion coating from January to August 2013," according to a statement released by the company.
