President Berdymukhamedov Reshuffled Government
On September 20, at a governmental meeting, President Berdymukhamedov signed a number of documents terminating and appointing members of the government. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Akmurat Yegeleyev, who was responsible for transport and communications, was fired from his position for “shortcomings in his work.” He was also stripped of his post of Deputy Chairman of the State Commission for Emergency Situations.
Turkmenistan’s Minister of Interior also spoke at the meeting and reported on inappropriate behavior in public places by the sons of Vice-Premier Khojamukhammet Mukhamedov, who had been in charge of the trade sector since 2007 and also occupied the post of the Head of Presidential Administration. President Berdymukhamedov removed Mukhamedov from his posts “due to a transfer to another job.”
The Chairman of the Turkmenpagta State Concern (Turkmen cotton), Hakmyrat Annamyradov, and the Chairman of the Turkmengallaonumleri State Association (Turkmen wheat products), Yalkapberdi Charyev, were fired for serious shortcomings in their work and abuse of office for personal gain. The Chairman of the Main State Tax Service of Turkmenistan, Annaberdy Mamikov, was also fired for “serious shortcomings in his work.”
Berdymukhamedov appointed Palvan Taganov, formerly the Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism, as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and acting Chief of the Presidential Administration of Turkmenistan.
Berdymukhamedov appointed Satlyk Satlykov, formerly Minister of Public Services, as the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of transport and communications.

President Berdymukhamedov Fired All Regional Prosecutors
On September 20, at a governmental meeting, Turkmenistan’s Prosecutor General reported on the results of a criminal investigation against the former prosecutor of Ashgabat, Movlamberdy Garaev, and said that it revealed gross violations of Turkmenistan’s laws, including bribery and illegal acquisition of property. The former prosecutor of Ashgabat pleaded guilty and gave evidence against his accomplices. As a result, President Berdymukhamedov fired all regional prosecutors and the heads of some agricultural organizations.

All Turkmenistan’s Regions To Undergo Disciplinary Inspection
According to a decree of President Berdymukhamedov, all five regions of Turkmenistan and Ashgabat will undergo an inspection with the goal of ensuring the observance of presidential decrees and implementation of social and economic development programs.
