President Berdymukhamedov Removed Head of State Border Service
President Berdymukhamedov relieved Major General Aman Garayev of his post as Chief of the State Border Service and Commander of Border Troops of Turkmenistan due to a job transfer. The President appointed Lieutenant General Murad Islamov, who served as Vice-Rector of the Border Institute of Turkmenistan in charge of educational work, as Chief of the State Border Service and Commander of Border Troops of Turkmenistan.
Islamov previously headed Turkmenistan’s border agency.

Statue of Berdymukhamedov's Horse to be Erected in Ashgabat
A statue of an Akhal-teke horse named Ianardag will be erected in Turkmenistan. The horse became the personal possession of President Berdymukhamedov in 1999 after it won the World Exhibition of Akhal-tekes in Moscow and became the world champion in this breed.
