Turkmenistan's Parliament and UNPD Held Roundtable on Local Self-Governance
In Ashgabat, the Turkmen Parliament together with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) held a meeting of experts on local and self-governing bodies, the Turkmen government reported. The event was organized as part of the joint project of the Turkmen Parliament and UNDP’s 'Parliamentary Development Support Programme' aimed at strengthening and enhancing the role of parliamentarians and examining international standards.

Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry Holds Meeting with UN-Women Division
Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry received a delegation of the UN’s Division for the Advancement of Women (DAW) led by the Regional Programme Director for the DAW sub-regional Office for Eastern and Central Asia, Damira Sartbaeva, to discuss the UN’s strategy for advancing women in Central Asia in 2014-15 and the promotion of gender equality in Turkmenistan.

President of Turkmenistan Received Trustee of Indo-Turkmenistan Friendship Society
While in the Avaza tourist zone, President Berdymukhamedov received a trustee of the India-Turkmenistan Friendship Society, Mohammed Afzal. During the meeting, Afzal stressed the interest of the Indian Government in developing cooperation with Turkmenistan. Berdymukhamedov said that Turkmenistan is interested in strengthening political, economic, and cultural ties with India.

Days of Turkmen Culture to be held in U.S.
On December 2-6, 2013, the US will host the Days of Turkmen Culture.
A delegation composed of 80 culture workers, artists, and academics from Turkmenistan will participate in cultural activities to be held in Washington, New York, and Albuquerque - the twin city of Ashgabat.
