President Berdymukhamedov Visited Uzbekistan
During the visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov to Tashkent, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan signed eight intergovernmental agreements. The Presidents of both countries signed a joint declaration on bilateral cooperation, an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in cultural and humanitarian affairs for 2014-2015, and a partnership agreement for emergency prevention and mitigation. Uzbekistan’s and Turkmenistan’s chemical concerns Uzhimprom and Turkmenhimia signed a framework agreement on cooperation. The Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange and the National Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan signed a cooperation agreement. Uzbekistan’s Department on Combating Tax Evasion, Monetary Crimes, and Legalization of Criminal Profits and the Ministry of Finance of Turkmenistan signed an agreement on cooperation in combating money laundering and terrorist financing. The Uzbektourism national company and the State Committee for Tourism of Turkmenistan signed an agreement on tourism. In addition, the Uzbekistan National News Agency and State News Agency of Turkmenistan signed an agreement on cooperation and information exchange.

Oil and gas forum kicks off in Ashgabat
Ashgabat hosted the International Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan 2013” and the 18th International Conference on “International Cooperation in the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan: Potential, Achievements, Priorities,” organized by the Ministry of Oil and Gas and Mineral Resources and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, to present Turkmenistan’s energy potential and prospects for cooperation before the international business community. Participants included Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector as well as some 100 companies from over 20 countries, including Russia, China, the US, the UK, Germany, Malaysia, the UAE, France, Italy, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Belarus. “The ongoing exploration work at Turkmenistan's largest oil field - Galkynysh - indicates the presence of verified unlimited gas reserves there, the Chairman of Turkmenistan’s State Concern Turkmengeologia, Atadurdy Berdymiyazov, said at the conference.

International fair of cotton products opens in Ashgabat
Ashgabat hosted the III International Fair of Cotton Products organized by the State Concern Turkmenpagta (Turkmen cotton), the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. Delegations from 20 countries representing 40 foreign companies from Russia, the USA, the UK, Japan, Italy, Singapore, Switzerland, Poland, India, Bangladesh, Latvia, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, and others participated in the event.

President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov received Prince Andrew, member of the British Royal Family, the Duke of York, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the 2013Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan Exhibition and the 18th International Conference, “International Cooperation in the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan: Potential, Achievements, Priorities.”
Berdymukhamedov and Prince Andrew discussed cooperation in the fuel and energy sectorand in the humanitarian and cultural sectors, as well as cooperation through joint educational programs.

Delegation of Turkmenistan attends Caspian Sea legal status meeting in Moscow
A delegation from Turkmenistan attended a regular meeting of the Special Working Group on the Development of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, held in Moscow on 21-22 November, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said. During the meeting, representatives of the five littoral states continued working on the text of the Convention.
