Forum 3
The final meeting in Washington DC explored the relationship
between the social consequences of illegal narcotics trafficking
and interdiction efforts in Central Asia and Afghanistan --
many of which were addressed in the previous two Policy Fora
-- and US and UN drug policy toward the region. At the Forum,
JNA Associates presented its new research paper, which describes
US and UN programs and policies and will help frame the debate
on how to insure that international anti-drug policies toward
the region help mitigate these social ills in the future.
Forum 2
The Forum, focusing on the public health crisis created by
narcotics trafficking, specifically drug treatment and HIV/AIDS
in Central Asia, is the second in a series of three meetings
addressing the social consequences of narcotics trafficking
in Central Asia and the role of international drug policy
toward the region. The third will focus on the impact and
effectiveness of US and UN drug policy toward Central Asia
and Afghanistan.
Forum 1
The Forum is the first in a series of three meetings addressing
