...AS ISLAMABAD TRIES TO STRENGTHEN TIES WITH KABUL
The Peshawar-based Nawa-e Dost (Melody of the Friend) radio station said
in a commentary on 30 March that historically "friendly relations"
between Afghanistan and Pakistan "are getting better day by day." As an
example, the commentary cited Islamabad's offer to allow Afghanistan to
export its goods via Pakistan, which it said "can play a big role in the
economic stability and life of the people of Afghanistan." While
Pakistan is trying to help Afghanistan, there seems to be apprehension
in Islamabad over the strengthening of traditional ties between Kabul
and New Delhi. AT
