ARMENIAN ARMY OFFICERS SENTENCED IN MISSILE-THEFT CASE. A Yerevan
District court passed sentence on 4 June on nine men in connection
with the theft of missiles from several army units, Noyan Tapan
reported. Seven Armenian Army officers and one warrant officer
received sentences of between three and seven years' imprisonment,
while Artur Melikian, who masterminded the thefts with the aim of
selling the missiles abroad, received a 15-year sentence on that
charge and two counts of murder. LF
