BELARUS RELEASES DETAINED GEORGIAN PARLIAMENTARIANS
A group of nine Georgian parliament deputies who were detained at Minsk airport by the Belarusian authorities upon their arrival in Belarus on March 16 to monitor the March 19 presidential election were released on March 18 and returned to Tbilisi, Caucasus Press reported. The Georgian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on March 17 deploring the detention and what it termed "libelous" allegations by the Belarusian KGB that Belarusian citizens are trained in "terrorist camps" in Georgia.
