Topics at the seminar included legislative requirements for NGO registration and re-registration and taxation issues. 20 representatives of 11 organizations participated in the training seminar, which was apart of a project funded by the European Commission. *Georgian Artists International Organization establishes its Branch in Gori* On July 13, Tbilisi-based NGO Georgian Artists International Organization held a conference at Gori State Theatre to establish its branch in Gori Region. *ITIC and Association of World Cities Organize a Seminar in Gori* On June 13-15, the NGO International Telecommunication and Information International Center and the Association of World Cities organized a seminar at the Gori Economic-Humanitarian Institute Informational Center Computer Lab covering the following topics: computers, text editors, informational databases, electronic publishing systems, Internet, and E-mail. Representatives of local organizations participated in the training. *NGO "Sasoeba" Distributed Donations Made by a Businessman* On July 13, President of LTD "Morkinali" John Gigani donated 500 GEL worth of Italian, good quality clothing to the NGO "Sasoeba". The NGO, which campaigns against drag use, distributed the clothing among patients rehabilitated at NGO's rehabilitation center and their families. *Kvemo Kartli Association for the Support of Disabled and Sick Children Helps Rustavi Children* Registered in November 1997, Kvemo Kartli Association for the Support of Disabled and Sick Children strives to improve the social and health conditions of 70 disabled children in Rustavi. Last year the NGO aided a heavily burnt girl by helping to cover her medical expenses. Two times this summer, the NGO organized a children's summer camp on the territory of Kindergarten # 17 in Rustavi. 30 children were able to spend half a month in the camp. The temporary contact address of Association for Disabled and Sick Children is: Kindergarten # 17, city Rustavi. *New CBO Establishes to Address Didi Digomi Settlement Needs* The CBO "Didi Digomi I" established in March, 1998, unites the population of the first and the second district of the Didi Digomi settlement. The goal of the organization is to defend life, dignity, interests, and personal freedoms of its members, help them to realize their abilities, use spare time of youth and other inhabitants of the settlement for the benefit of the region and civil society, disseminate legal information among the citizens through media sources, and popularize and explain presidential, parliament and government laws and recommendations to the large segments of the society. In the future, the CBO plans to establish a shelter for homeless, organize free of charge medical and legal consulting services, engage youth in sports and cultural activities, identify and develop abilities of gifted children, organize contests for their stimulation, plan activities to beautify the region, assess and present the problems of the region at state and civil organizations for their timely solution, identify multi-children families, retired people, lonely people, refugees, and the disabled who need help, discuss the complaints and requests of citizens and study the cases of ceased constructions. The goals of the organization include: to form an open, democratic society by increasing individual involvement of citizens, to defend citizens' dignity, to protect environment, to contribute in conflict resolution, to develop local mass media, to organize of free of charge legal consulting services, to popularize governmental and parliamentary decisions among population, to support peaceful coexistence of different nations, ethical, racial, and religious groups, to cooperate with international humanitarian organizations to assist in fair distribution of humanitarian and other aids, to establish international contacts to exchange experience, to identify law violations, to use mass media to make public cases of corruption, bribery, violations of human rights, personal freedoms and human dignity and establish civil control at governmental agencies. On May 10, 1998, the CBO "Mukiani -Imedi", with active participation of the local population, organized a tree planting initiative, and aided refugees from Gali Region, Apkhazia. The future plans of the organization include the creation of informational data base on the local population, organization of a free of charge legal consulting service for the local population, organization of a free medical consulting services and establishment of contacts with NGOs from foreign countries. NGO Noosphere Research Center Organizes Seminars and Retreats Noosphere Research Center unites the representatives of science, art and religion, bio-energetics and specialists from the new fields of science. The center regularly organizes an interdisciplinary seminar entitled "Roots of Metaphysical Sciences."
