KAZAKH FOREIGN MINISTER IN MOSCOW TO PREPARE FOR NEW RUSSIAN PRESIDENT'S
VISIT
In Moscow on an official visit, Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin met on May
6 with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, to prepare the details of
the planned visit to Kazakhstan by new Russian President Dmitry
Medvedev, according to ITAR-TASS. At a joint press conference following
the meeting, Tazhin explained that Medvedev's visit will focus on
"issues of energy policy" as well as "transportation issues and security
problems," while Lavrov added that the visit is a reflection of the
significance of the "strategic partnership" between Kazakhstan and
