Police Arrest Demonstrators in Kyrgyzstan

Today in the morning policemen arrested around 15 people and took them in unknown
direction. Identities of arrested people is being determined. As a result of this
incident, people are outraged by the actions of the law enforcement, because they
are trying to provoke them. Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan, especially center of
the city, is surrounded by the policemen.

Four busses (3 LAZ and 1 Mercedez) and two more vans are in the Ala-Too central
square as of 8.30 a.m. There busses and vans are full of policemen, and fifty
more policemen are on the western side of the square. Another bus and three
private vans with policemen are to the south of the square near the Kyrgyz Theater
building. Another patrolling bus is near the Historical Museum to control the
northern part of the square. All the streets leading to Ala-Too are blocked
(Tynystanova St. from the east, Panfilova St. from the west, Frunze St. and
Erkindik St. from the north). Many more policemen are in their cars around the
Kyrgyz Drama Theater.
